Happy New Year!

Things were really low-key here in the Martin house on New Year's Eve. I ate a clean breakfast, watched The Price is Right with my dad, went to the gym with my mom (Started LiveFit 1-1), and came home to do some writing.

After mom went to work this evening, dad and I watched Battleship (It was okay. A lot of explosives, not a lot of plot or even motivation on the part of the alien attack, and the only way to really get rid of them was to blow them up. *shrugs* It was okay. It was no Independence Day, but what is?), and since it was only about 9:00 when that movie got over, we decided to watch a funnier, shorter (and WAY better) movie, Troop Beverly Hills.

So, a bit of info about goings on so you'll all be in the know. For TODAY only, starting at Pacific Time (I hope!), Sugar &Spies will be available for free on all Kindle devices (including Kindle for PC and Mac, so if you don't have a smartphone, tablet or eReader, you can still download it).

Secondly, I want to congratulate Gia, Samantha, Michael, Lauren and Lorena who all won free copies of Sugar & Spies in paperback from Createspace.com. Thanks for your interest! As an additional surprise, there is a preview to book #2 in the back!

Thirdly, in order to do the promotion on Kindle, I had to give Amazon some exclusivity for a bit. I've sold very few books at Smashwords, so it was a business move. It's only 90 days, and we'll see where it goes from here. I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, but I'm learning a business. Thanks to everyone for being so supportive and believing in me. And to my friend, Amanda, if I can achieve my dream of being a published author, so can you. Rock on with your socks on, Girlfriend!

Goals for 2013:

#1. Finish the sequel to Sugar & Spies, The Truth & The Spy by January 31 (ready for edits by then).
#2. Finish Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer by the end of March.
#3. Run the Color Me Rad 5K (3.1 mi) with no or very little walking.
#4. Publish book #3 by July 2013 (Title to be reconsidered. I don't really like what it is right now. Little Green Spies. I dunno. What do you guys think?)
#5. Move to Denver in July, August or September (Happy Birthday to me!).
#6. Become a full time writer and/or blogger. I think the author thing will happen before the blogger, but you just never know. My goal for the year is to work to be my own boss as I go into 2014.

All right. Goals are out there for the whole world to see. I will check them off as they get finished. Have a great 2013, everyone! Happy New Year!
